Today we started our new unit of learning – PLANTS!
We started by recapping our EYFS and Year 1 learning by reminding ourselves of the different types of and parts of plants. Mrs Loizos was surprised by how much we new as a year group, and that we could confidently name a range of trees, shrubs, flowers and plants.
We then applied our understanding to identify the parts of a plant and flower, through doing our first dissection! We had to go on an adventure to find a flower in our local environment, before identifying all the different parts of the plant.
Below are a selection of the work they produced. All children showed excellent observation, dissection and classification skills! Well done Year 2!
