Today, before we finished our unit of learning on Materials, we looked at researching interesting and important objects.
All children were asked to choose one object in their home, which was either interesting in terms of the materials in which it was made of, or important to them. Once they had chosen their object, they had to sketch a scientific diagram of it, labelling all of the different materials. They then had to research:
- materials it is made from
- whether the materials were natural or artificial
- what materials were inside
- where the materials came from
- how it works/what it is used for
All children chose how they communicated, and it was really enjoyable to get an insight into some of their important objects. Mrs Loizos was really proud of their scientific sketches, they have improved greatly since September. Well done Year 2!
