Today we begun our pattern seeking investigation ‘Do bigger seeds & bulbs produce bigger plants?’.
After a quick comprehension exercise with Mrs Squibb, we begun by recapping our Year 1 understanding of parts of the plant and the requirements of a plant to grow. We then looked at a selection of seeds and bulbs, classifying and grouping them based on size and type.
After this, we looked at our key question, discussing our thoughts, ideas and reasons as a class.
We then chose two bulbs to plant and compare, sketching diagrams of these and identifying the one we thought would grow into a bigger plant.
We are looking forward to planting these and helping them grow after Easter.
