After a few weeks off of Science, due to Art workshops, we were back and ready to begin our new unit: Life Cycles!
We researched chickens today, using a range of sources to find out about the 4 main stages of a chickens life cycle:
- Egg
- Embryo – this was a new word, and will be a focus over the coming weeks as we observe the embryos developing inside our eggs, using candle torches.
- Chick
- Chicken
We recorded our findings by making a ‘chicken house’ which opened up to display each stage of the life cycle and the interesting facts we learned!
Year 2 Science at Gurnard Primary School
